Now that you know what you’re offering and the transformation you’re promising, you can start mapping out your plan to help your students achieve that change in your course.
Your course outline is the roadmap.
It ensures that your content flows logically, covers all necessary topics, and provides a clear path for your students to follow. It also helps you stay organized during the content creation process.
To outline your course, we’re going to break down your main topic into modules and lessons.
You can have as many modules and lessons as you want. But for this course we recommend you follow the outline provided in the “Course Outline” section of the course workbook. This is the exact outline we used when we wrote the first draft of PGA and the Prompt Engineering Playbook. The provided outline has 5 modules with 3 lessons each, plus an introduction.
Now, since this is a “DOING” course that helps your student achieve a result, then each module in your course should be moving them 1-step closer to a desired outcome.
Spend some time breaking this down before you give decide to hire AI for this task.
Here’s how to approach the outline:
What are all the individual steps you are going to help them take?
What are the 5-10 core actions you are going to help them DO, and when they do those core actions, what happens? What outcomes will they experience?
All a “course” is, is a collection of smaller, connected ideas. That’s it. So, to make the writing process easier, wouldn’t it be helpful for you to have a list in front of you of all the ideas you want to make sure to cover inside your course?
